Flodder is a new slot game created by Red Tiger. Its family theme is based on a popular Dutch TV series from the 1980s. A dysfunctional family moves into an affluent suburb, and almost immediately, the problems start. The game design features a nice house and a pink Cadillac in the driveway but with all sorts of items strewn in the yard, showing the family is still adapting to moving to the suburbs. The game is played on a five-reel, three-row game grid with 25 fixed paylines to hit winning combinations. Flodder has a decent RTP of 95.75%, which isn’t bad and operates on a medium volatility.
The different symbols in the game include A, K, Q, J and 10 royals as well as a dog called Whiskey and members of the Flodder family. Some of the other symbols are Zoon Kees, Dochter Kees, Johnnie and Grandma. Grandma is the most valuable symbol paying 1x, 11x or 50x your total stake when you land three, four or five across a payline, respectively. The game comes with four wild symbols. First, there is the Grandpa Stick wild, which substitutes for any symbol. Five on payline will pay 50x your total bet. Grandpa wilds, Johnnie wilds and Sjakie wilds appear during the free spins. The pink Cadillac symbol acts as the free spins scatter.
Flodder’s features are a mix of family members and different game modifications. During the game, Grandpa Flodder may randomly wave his stick while dropping between two to 12 wild symbols onto the reels in any position. The game looks pretty simple, but the action really heats up when the free spins are triggered. Scatter symbols can land on any reel but landing three of them entitles you to 10 free spins with three picks from the free spins picker. The scatter symbols only appear in the base round and not in the bonus round.
This game will definitely not be familiar to most people, especially if you were not old enough to have watched the TV series it is based on from the 80s. The simplicity of the game will make it easy to play, but the maximum bet of €10 a spin is very low and will likely drive away players looking for a high-paying game.
Flodder may not have the appeal of other more popular family-themed games, but Red Tiger has gone about its business well by neatly linking all the characters. There are plenty full stack wilds in conjunction with Wild Johnnie or Wild Ma that allow for sizable winning combinations. This game is a winner for the average player but won’t attract any high rollers.
